Steven M. Lecher, the managing member of Lecher Development, L.L.C., has been in the construction business for over 25 years. He is part of the second generation of a family building tradition in Fairfield County that was started by his father almost fifty years ago. This family tradition, which continues to exist through Lecher Development, L.L.C., produces some of the finest homes in Fairfield County.
Lecher Development, L.L.C.was started in 1995, and has developed over $50 million worth of projects in New Canaan, Ridgefield, Wilton and Darien. Having virtually grown up on construction sites, Mr. Lecher learned every aspect of residential construction. It was during this time that Mr. Lecher was able to forge relationships with the many skilled people that still work on his projects today. In fact, it is the unique bond of loyalty and trust that exists between Steven and his subcontractors that is one of the keys to the success of his projects.
Also somewhat unique to Lecher Development is the fact that many of the homes constructed by Lecher Development are designed personally by Mr. Lecher through the use of the latest design and CAD techniques. Because both the design and the management of the project are kept within Lecher Development, there can be more design and creative flexibility while keeping strict attention to detail which results in a more economically constructed project. Moreover, through the use of photo quality CAD renderings, Lecher Development’s clients are able to get a more accurate visual concept of the designs which results in better and more accurate decisions during the design and construction phases.
Lecher Development’s high standard of home construction has been recognized by The Home Builders Association of Connecticut (“HBA”) through the numerous HOBI awards that Lecher Development has received for its projects. The HBA is a non-profit professional trade organization and is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders. The HOBI awards are the most prestigious awards given each year by the association, and are intended to recognize the state’s most outstanding new construction and remodeling projects. There are more than 1,000 members of the HBA statewide. In the past eight years, Lecher Development has received seven HOBI Awards for custom and spec homes that it has constructed in the Fairfield County area.
Mr. Lecher’s varied educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in finance from Fordham University and a law degree (cum laude) from Pace University School of Law.
Lecher Development's management team also includes Michael F. Conway, who has been the Director of Project Development for the past five years. Mr. Conway holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Eastern Connecticut State University and brings to Lecher Development over 30 years of residential project management. Mr. Conway has substantial experience with all aspects of residential construction and runs the daily operations of each project. Mr. Conway's responsibilities include daily onsite project management, material procurement and management of subcontractor relations.
